The Outpost Private Lodge - Kruger National Park
The Outpost is a private rest camp lodge in the
northern section of the Kruger National Park close to the Pafuri Gate.
The Outpost is situated on a hill above the Luvuvhu River offering
magnificent panoramic views of the beautiful river system in the valley
below. The Outpost Lodge is in the Makuleke concession and can be
accessed via the Pafuri Gate and a 4 kilometer private road.
The
Outpost Lodge has 12 units accommodating 24 guests at one time. The
rooms are beautiful offering amazing views decorated in an African
style. Each room has a balcony, a daybed, an indoor lounge and bedroom.

(Pictured left) helps out at the Lodge and actually helped build the
Outpost in 2003. She is very friendly, willing and helpful and is happy
to tell you about the history and wildlife of the area.
At The Outpost Lodge wildlife abounds, the rare Yellow Spotted Hyrax makes their home within the Lodge and you can get quite close to them. There are also Dwarf Mongoose that forage around the area and many species of animal can be seen in the valley below, almost any animal you can imagine. Birding is prolific in the Lodge with all sorts of rare species occurring. This area can get extremely hot through out the year so prepare yourself.
