The Malelane Private Satellite
Camp is unique as it is the only
rest camp in the Kruger
National Park that is situated on a boundary fence, the Crocodile
River. Malelane camp is
Berg-en-Dal
Rest Camp's "satellite" camp which is just 10 kilometers away. If
you look one way from the Malelane Private Camp you will see sugar cane
farms and when you look the opposite direction you will see the
untouched, unspoilt, African bushveld. Malelane is very small and has a
quiet atmosphere.

Malelane Camp Accommodation
There are limited numbers of accommodation in the
tranquil Malelane Private Satellite Camp, these include: 15x
camping/caravanning sites with power, 4 bungalows with 4-single beds and
1 bungalow with 1 single bed.
Malelane Camp Activities
No activities can be done in/from the Malelane Camp. Arrangements should be made at the Malelane entrance gate 4 kilometers away. You have to check in here as well.
Malelane Camp Facilities
Due to this camp being small and secluded the only available facilities within Malelane Camp are an ablution block, a communal kitchen and a communal freezer. Shopping should be done at Berg-en-Dal or at the town of Malelane.
Malelane Camp Wildlife
The birding in Malelane Camp is great and many
bird species can be found within the camp, species such as: Burchell's
Coucal, Yellowbilled Hornbill, Burchell's Starling, Fierynecked
Nightjar, Crested Barbet, Greater Blue Eared Starling, Blue Waxbill,
Grey Go Away Bird, Forktailed Drongo, Helmeted Guineafowl and Natal
Spurfowl.
The mammals in the camp are few and far between but one can expect to find Vervet Monkey, Tree Squirrel, Impala, Warthog and Bushbuck in the camp. At night there is a chance of seeing Thick Tailed Bushbaby and Small Spotted Genet. Other mammals you could encounter around the perimeter fence or in the camp are Scrub Hare, African Civet, Spotted Hyaena and Leopard.
